 A book of entirely appropriate size and weight.  It is difficult to imagine a more comprehensive treatment of the subject, and the illustrations, particularly those of the art and artefacts, are particularly impressive.

Now out of print, and in these straitened times it is practically inconceivable it would ever be reprinted.

Pages 461-472 in the appendix at the rear of the book have been bound in upside-down, though nothing is missing.  This leads me to believe this may have been a review copy.
