That is, from the period when Ferrari GP cars were interesting, unlike today . . . . For example, Ferrari were the first F1 team to run an aerofoil on a Grand Prix car, in 1968 (see picture below).

The author was for many years Grand Prix correspondent for ‘Motoring News’ (then the weekly sister publication to ‘Motor Sport’), and the very readable text is full of quotations from drivers and team members which the more sober and technical books on the subject would leave out – see the specimen page below. Yes, the print is that small!
