Between the book’s publication in the original German in 1975 and the publication of this English translation in 1977 Lauda had suffered his near-fatal crash in the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring, and this edition includes a transcript of his interview with Harry Carpenter on the BBCTV Sportsnight programme two months after the accident.
