See the description from the dustwrapper flap. It would appear from the book’s introduction that this is the entire Journal of Roberts’ journey up the Nile in 1838-9 (see specimen page below). The Journal was transcribed by Roberts’ daughter, and the original is now in the National Library of Scotland.
