Very numerous illustrations from colour photographs, results appendices, 110 pp, green cloth with inset metal badge on front cover, in slipcase, corners of slipcase a trifle rubbed, otherwise in fine condition, Goodwood Road Racing Club (Chichester, West Sussex) 2002
15.9 x 20.3 cm, 580g, no ISBN
In fact a full report of that year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (the hillclimb up the house drive) and Revival Meeting at the historic Motor Circuit, with splendid colour photographs – see specimens.
This was the famous Revival Meeting where Robert Brooks in his Lotus 19 (the pale green car in the second picture) was caught out by a sudden shower on the next-to-last lap. He slid broadside into the chicane wall, which was fortunately no longer built of brick as it was in the 50s. The result was an astonishing explosion of white polystyrene and red potted geraniums, but a largely undamaged car . . .
The book was produced only for members of the Road Racing Club, and was never offered for sale to the public.
