A great classic of angling literature, originally published in 1971, and scarce even in that edition. 

This copy was supplied as a pre-production review copy (as the limitation label states), and the publisher very unkindly cut out a portion of the front endpaper and inscribed “Early Sample” on the remaining part.  However, this copy is signed on the flyleaf by Brian Clarke, author of “The Pursuit of Stillwater Trout” and “The Trout and the Fly”, who featured the book in his “Times” article on 16th December 2000 on that year’s angling books (a copy of the article is included) – so this copy has its own unique provenance.
