Chief test pilot for Hawker, carrying out most of the testing on the Hunter.  As this was my favourite aircraft when I was a boy (in fact it probably still is), Duke was my hero.  He also shot down 28 enemy aircraft in the War, flying Kittyhawks and Spitfires.
