Not simply a cookery book – more a history of food and its preparation (and consumption) in classical times, illustrated with modern interpretations of recipes found in classical texts.  See below the description from the dustwrapper flap.

Although The Website That Is Intent on World Domination claims to be able to supply a new copy of a paperback edition of the book for £12.99, the British Museum website does not mention it at all, and we therefore conclude that the book is now out of print.  In any case, as with any cookery book, it is far better to have a proper sewn hardback like our copy, as it will open flat and stay open at the page.
