In his chapter on “The Future and Development” the author concludes that the Argentines would not want to take over the islands – “Generally their view is one of amazement and compassion for the Islanders’ situation”.
While the possibility of oil and gas deposits are mentioned briefly, the author believes the islands’ future probably rests on deep-sea fishing . . . .
