The Landmark Trust is a charity which rescues buildings in distress, and then restores them and lets them out for short holidays. Every year it produces a handbook which describes the properties (see example page below). As each building has been selected as worthy of restoration, the handbook becomes a valuable record of the slightly quirkier side of British vernacular architecture.
