THE PROBLEM OF BEING AN ICELANDER

Past, Present and Future, Translation by Pétur Kidson Karlsson, text entirely in English, illustrations from colour photographs, 92 pp, glazed boards (no d/w, but I doubt whether there was one), spine faded, corners very slightly rubbed, otherwise in very good condition, Almenna bókafélagiđ (Reykjavik, Iceland) 1973

18.3 x 20.2 cm, 360g, no ISBN

See the description from the book’s rear cover.  This was written, you will note, before the Icelanders discovered that looking after the world’s money was rather more complicated than they had thought . . .

The Icelandic character which looks like a capital P is what the Icelanders call a 'thorn', and represents the English letters TH - so Professor Gislason's middle name should be represented in English by a T.

Long out of print.
