Compiled from his Letters, text entirely in English, b&w illustrations from contemporary engravings, photographs and a few of van Gogh’s drawings, chronology, index, 129 pp, sewn paperback, edges of covers rubbed, bottom corner of front cover a little bumped, otherwise in very good condition, NV’t Lanthuys (Amsterdam, Holland) 1968
26.8 x 20.5 cm, 650g, no ISBN
See the description below from the book’s introduction. The compiler was Vincent van Gogh’s nephew.
The pages of the book are printed on good-quality paper of a brownish colour (see below), and there is no spotting or uneven browning. We are convinced that was the original colour of the book’s pages, and the paper was not originally cream and has browned, as the paper used in many English books of the period would have done.
Long out of print.
