William Stott signed his paintings and added “of Oldham” to distinguish his work from that of his (unrelated) contemporary Edward Stott.  

This book was published to accompany the exhibition of William Stott’s work at Gallery Oldham between December 2003 and April 2004, and remains the only monograph on the artist.  See the description (below) from the dustwrapper flap.
